Advanced Dentures Offer Unparalleled Stability
Dependability
Dentures attached to dental implants are extremely strong and durable, and they will never slip out of place. Implant dentures are a long-term solution designed for comfort, reliability, and peace of mind.Jawbone Strength
Implant dentures prevent the jawbone atrophy that occurs in the absence of tooth roots. Besides keeping your bite strong, this also helps maintain your facial structure and keeps you from developing a sunken, aged look.Improved Quality of Life
Missing teeth make it difficult to eat or speak normally. Implants keep dentures from slipping out of place so you can enjoy life without worrying about your teeth.Boosted Confidence
Dentures enhance your appearance by replacing missing teeth and filling in the gaps. After receiving dentures from our Carmel dentist, you will no longer need to hide your mouth when you smile or worry about your prosthetic teeth falling out during a conversation. What Are Implant-Supported Dentures?
Implant-supported dentures are full or partial dentures that stay attached to dental implants. Because they replace both teeth and tooth roots, implant-supported dentures are a reliable, long-term solution for your oral health needs.
Implant-supported dentures consist of three primary parts: the implant posts, the abutment pieces, and the dentures themselves. Here at Lande Cosmetic, Implant and Family Dentistry in Carmel, Indiana, we can perform every stage of the dental implant process.

Any underlying oral health problems must first be treated before the implant procedure can begin. Your gums must be in good shape to ensure the success of dental treatment.Receiving Implant-Supported Dentures What to Expect during Treatment
The All-on-4 Method Simpler. Quicker. Easier.
If you're missing a full arch of teeth, the traditional implant timeline may seem like it will take too long. You need new teeth, and you need them as soon as possible! Fortunately, Dr. Lande is experienced in the innovative All-on-4® dental implants approach. With this treatment method, our dentist can attach a full denture to only four implants, and he can do it in the same appointment as your implant surgery. Also known as immediate dentures, this temporary set of dentures allows you to enjoy restored function while you wait on your permanent dentures.
On top of having a set of immediate dentures, the All-on-4 method requires a smaller amount of healthy bone, so you may not need preparatory bone grafting in order to qualify.
Does Everyone Qualify for the All-on-4 Method?
/
While the All-on-4 method requires less bone tissue because of the strategically placed posts. But if you have significant bone atrophy, you may still need bone grafting. During your initial consultation, Dr. Lande will help determine if you will need bone grafting or if you can proceed with dental implant placement with the All-on-4 method.

"He is the gentlest, most clinically skilled, and professionally competent dentist that my family has ever discovered, which is why he has been our only family dentist for over 25 years. He has a very comfortable office, keeps up to date with the latest advances in cosmetic and general dental care, has a wonderful and welcoming office staff, and is extremely sensitive and understanding when confronted with the "fear and dread of going to see a dentist" that many of us have. I can not recommend him highly enough, and would grant a 6 Star Rating if it were allowed. If you choose to put your trust in Dr. Lande, you will never regret it!!" Judy Davis
What to Expect After Treatment
After receiving your dentures at our Carmel practice, there will probably be a short adjustment period until you get used to your new restoration. After all, it is like having brand new teeth in your mouth. It may take some time for you to feel comfortable eating and speaking, but many patients get the hang of it with practice.
Dr. Lande recommends starting slow and eating soft foods before moving on to more solid foods when you are comfortable. After the adjustment period is over, you'll enjoy all the benefits that implant-supported dentures have to offer. It is essential to maintain your oral health by regularly brushing, flossing, and attending routine dental checkups.

A Closer Look at Traditional Denture Solutions
Traditional Complete Dentures
A traditional complete denture is a removable prosthesis that replaces an entire row of missing teeth on the upper or lower jaw. They consist of a gum-colored acrylic base and custom-designed prosthetic teeth. The acrylic base stays in place through a combination of suction and denture adhesive.
Traditional Partial Dentures
Patients who have both missing teeth and remaining healthy natural teeth may qualify for a traditional partial denture. This dental prosthetic is based on a metal framework that attaches to surrounding teeth with clasps. As with traditional complete dentures, it is removable for cleaning.
What Are the Benefits of Traditional Dentures?
While implant-supported dentures are undoubtedly the most stable and comfortable option, here are some reasons why traditional dentures are a better choice for some patients:
They're Affordable
If you are looking for the least expensive way to replace most or all of your teeth, traditional dentures may be the way to go. Removable dentures are far less expensive than implant-supported dentures when you take into account the total cost of the procedure. Most insurance plans cover at least part of the cost of traditional dentures.
They're Fast
The treatment timeline for traditional dentures is much shorter than that of dental implant-supported dentures. We will take impressions of your jaws and design your prosthetic. After waiting a short period for the lab to craft your custom restoration, we will fit your denture to complete your treatment. In a matter of weeks, you can have a complete smile again.
They're Non-Surgical
Dental implants require surgery, which can be risky for patients with certain health conditions. When surgery is not an option, traditional dentures may be the best solution.
The best way to find out which restorative treatment is best for your needs is to schedule a consultation at our Carmel office.
Frequently Asked Questions About Dentures
Do dentures hurt?
No. While you do need some time to adjust to your restored smile, your dentures should not cause discomfort. Your dentist can make adjustments to ensure there is no rubbing or gum irritation, and it is important to communicate with your dentist so he can ensure you are completely comfortable with your dentures.
How long do dentures last?
With proper care and maintenance, traditional and implant-supported dentures can last for about 10 to 15 years before they will need to be replaced. While they are durable, the materials will wear over time and become susceptible to damage, so you will eventually need a new set.
Will insurance cover implant-supported dentures?
Basic insurance plans do not cover dental implants, but may cover the restoration itself. However, dental implants are the only restorative dentistry procedure that can stop and prevent jawbone loss, so investing in them can save you time and money later. We will help you determine what your out-of-pocket costs will be before you commit to treatment.
